1 x Fixed Term contract/secondment opportunity for up to 12 months

Hours are part time, 12 hours per week.

To support the clinical activities of Working Well Occupational Health by providing technical and administrative support as required.

To work as part of a team of Occupational Health Professionals in a supporting role and assist in the delivery of needs\-based services to external organisations for whom a service is provided, and NHS employees in Gloucestershire.

Technical/Clinical Duties

  • Undertake venepuncture in line with OH policy, informing clients of results and undertaking any necessary follow up action.

  • Participate in audit for clinical practice and assist with data collection for research

  • Ensure clear and accurate records are kept in line with government guidelines for records and record keeping

  • Responsibility for the temperature recording of the drug refrigerators and routine care

  • To liaise with senior OH Practitioners where results are outside of agreed parameters

This high\-level overview shows we are in a healthy position, with higher scores than average for comparable organisations, alongside a great response rate, indicating good staff engagement.   • To create and maintain confidential health records for Service Users using the Occupational Health G2 database

  • Ensure all blood results for Service Users are followed up and entered accurately into G2

  • Responsible for ordering and maintaining the correct levels of resources for the clinical rooms

  • Ensure that clinical equipment is maintained and calibrated on a planned basis and appropriate records maintained

  • Contribute to the general tidiness of the department and clinical rooms and report any health and safety issues

  • Assist with the care of staff following contamination injuries and in monitoring and following up cases; auditing of incidents and data correlation.

  • Maintain a working knowledge of relevant statutory codes of practice, guidance notes, departmental procedures and Protocols

  • Report untoward incidents such as complaints, clinical emergencies or injury to senior
As a Health Care Assistant/ Support Worker you will be responsible for participating and assisting in the delivery of care / services to patients and service users as part of a Mental Health and Social Care Health Service. Health Care Assistant, Social Care Workers and other Healthcare Support Workers employed by the Trust are required to follow the guidance set out in Code of Conduct for Health Care Assistants/ Health Care Support Workers to provide safe and compassionate care of a high standard, and to challenge others who are not.

You will receive direct supervision and partake in reflective practice / training on a regular basis and be required to meet the Care Certificate standards. All successful applicants will also have the opportunity to discuss the prospect of undertaking a Level 3 Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship alongside their substantive post. This apprenticeship would include the Level 3 Diploma in Clinical Healthcare.
