Cobh Community Hospital is currently seeking a compassionate and reliable Healthcare Assistant to join our dedicated care team. This is a rewarding opportunity to support older people in a warm, supportive, and person\-centred environment.

As a Healthcare Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering high\-quality care to our residents, ensuring their dignity, comfort, and well\-being are always maintained.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal care including washing, dressing, toileting, and mobility


• Provide support with meals, hydration, and daily activities


• Offer companionship and emotional support to residents


• Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment


• Observe and report any changes in residents’ health or behaviour to nursing staff


• Maintain accurate care documentation in line with hospital policy

• QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support or equivalent (or working towards completion)


• Previous experience in a healthcare setting is an advantage, but not essential


• A genuine interest in caring for the elderly


• Strong communication and teamwork skills


• Respectful, empathetic, and reliable approach to care


• Garda vetting and two references will be required

Pay: €15\.00\-€18\.50 per hour
