Health Care Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will provide essential support to residents in care homes or individuals receiving home care. Duties

• Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility, ensuring their comfort and dignity are maintained


• Support the implementation of personalised care plans tailored to individual needs


• Monitor residents' health and wellbeing, reporting any concerns to senior staff promptly


• Help with meal preparation and feeding where necessary, adhering to dietary requirements


• Maintain accurate records of care provided and any changes in residents' conditions


• Support residents in engaging with social activities and promoting their independence


• Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the care environment in compliance with health and safety regulations


• Drive or accompany residents on outings or appointments as required, utilising driving skills when necessary

Requirements

• Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is essential, as training will be provided


• Valid driving licence is preferred for roles involving transportation of residents


• Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members


• Basic IT skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation


• Strong interpersonal skills with a caring and empathetic approach towards residents


• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team


• Flexibility to work shifts that may include mornings, afternoons, or evenings; weekend work may be required but not mandatory


• Commitment to safeguarding vulnerable adults and maintaining confidentiality
