Puddleduck Nursery is a family run business that has been in operation for 30years, we believe childhood should be filled with curiosity, discovery, confidence, and joy. Our nursery provides a safe, nurturing, and inspiring environment where children can learn, explore, and thrive through play, meaningful experiences, and strong relationships.

Every day is different. From messy play and outdoor adventures to celebrations, seasonal events, learning milestones, and family engagement activities, there are countless stories waiting to be shared.

We're now looking for a Head of social media \& Community to lead how we tell those stories and build a trusted and engaging nursery brand for our region.

About the Role

You'll develop and execute a social media strategy that showcases the real life of our nursery, highlights the incredible work of our team, celebrates children's achievements, and strengthens our connection with current and prospective families.

You'll lead content planning, oversee creative direction, manage community engagement, and build a social presence that reflects our values, culture, and commitment to exceptional childcare.

Flexible working environment 4\-6 per week

Most importantly, you'll understand that the most powerful content comes from authentic moments, not staged marketing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and manage content calendars aligned with nursery activities, events, and seasonal campaigns.

  • Capture and oversee the creation of engaging photo and video content within the nursery environment.

  • Transform everyday experiences into compelling stories that showcase child development, learning, and nursery life.

  • Lead creative direction for Reels, TikToks, Stories, short\-form video, photography, and campaign content.

  • Build and nurture an engaged parent and local community audience.

  • Manage social media channels, responding to comments, messages, and community interactions.

  • Support nursery enrolment and brand awareness through strategic content planning.

  • Work closely with nursery leadership and practitioners to identify stories and opportunities for content creation.

  • Measure performance, track key metrics, and continually optimise content based on audience insights.

  • Lead coverage of nursery events, celebrations, open days, and special activities.

  • Ensure all content adheres to safeguarding, privacy, and brand guidelines.

  • Stay ahead of platform trends and emerging opportunities relevant to family\-focused brands.
Experience Needed
  • Social media, content, or digital marketing experience.

  • Proven track record of growing and engaging social media audiences.

  • Experience creating high\-performing short\-form video content.

  • Strong understanding of Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and emerging platforms.

  • Experience building communities and fostering meaningful audience engagement.

  • Experience within education, childcare, family, lifestyle, hospitality, or community\-focused brands would be advantageous.

  • Confident filming in real\-world environments.
