Head of Sales
Job Title: Head of Sales
Location: London (Field\-based / Blackhorse Beer Mile, Walthamstow)
Salary: £40K base per annum, £48k OTE
Position Type: Full\-time
About Us:
Born in a Dalston carpark in 2015 with just two 20ft shipping containers, 40ft Brewery has grown one shipping container at a time. Today, we are a small, independent team of 14 people producing fresh, modern beer at our flagship brewery and taproom on the Blackhorse Beer Mile in Walthamstow.
From day one, sustainability has been part of our DNA. We chose to bypass industry trends, opt out of single\-use plastics, and brew with a conscience. We are proud to say we are an officially Certified B Corporation, holding ourselves to high standards of social and environmental performance. With a thriving community of over one hundred incredible venues pouring our beer, we are ready for the next stage of our growth.
The Role:
Earlier this year our ace Head of Sales moved back to Oz, so we steadied the ship and waited for the right time to recruit. That time is certainly now. We are looking for a commercially minded, organized, and beer\-loving professional to look after our wholesale community and hunt down new opportunities across London. This is a hybrid "on\-the\-road" and "at\-the\-desk" role. You’ll spend your time out in the trade building relationships, but you’ll also completely own the end\-to\-end sales lifecycle—from lead generation to inputting orders and keeping our data systems immaculate. You will also work with the company directors to build the sales team under your management as we exceed our targets and volumes.
Key Responsibilities:
Area Sales \& Business Development: Act as the face of 40ft Brewery across London. Maintain and grow relationships with our existing 100\+ venue partners while actively hunting for new taps, fridges, and listings.
- CRM \& Process Management: Complete ownership of our sales pipeline data. You’ll keep our internal systems updated, track customer interactions, and map out territory opportunities.
- Sales Order Process: Take accountability for your accounts from pitch to pour. You will manage your own sales order processes through Breww and our bespoke AppSheet custom app, ensuring data accuracy and seamless handovers to production and distribution.
- Brand Activation: Organize and attend tap takeovers, tastings, and industry events to champion our core range and seasonal specials.
- At least 3 years solid field based experience in FMCG, hospitality, or B2B sales (drinks industry experience is a big bonus). People management background would be advantageous, but also open to someone who can demonstrate the “lead from the front” style as they develop the other skills with us.
- A Structured Self\-Starter: You love being out on the road meeting people, but you have the organizational discipline to handle your admin without being micro\-managed.
- Tech\-Savvy Operations: You are comfortable navigating modern business tools. Direct experience with Breww is a massive advantage, and you’ll be expected to confidently use our custom AppSheet mobile tools on the go. High attention to detail is crucial.
- Driven: You care about sustainability, community, and quality. You’re excited to work for a B Corp that does business the right way.
Employing staff is a responsibility with a duty of care that extends beyond remuneration. For this role, we offer:
- Travel: Fully covered TfL Zone 1–3 travel card to keep you moving across the city.
- Private Health Cover: Full\-time employees receive Private Health Cover with Vitality, promoting healthy living with incentives and online GP access.
- Employee Assistance Programme: Access to a free, confidential counseling and advice service for personal, financial, legal, or mental health support.
- Early Pay: Access to draw down your earned wages before official payday if needed.
- Ethical Pension: Contribution to our ethical company pension scheme.
- 40ft Beer Allowance \& Discounts: A generous taproom beer allowance managed under our collaborative staff accountability framework, plus discounts at neighboring venues.
- Personal Development: We love to see our team grow and actively encourage and support professional development.
If you’re ready to help us grow please send your CV and a brief cover note to jobs@40ftbrewery.com.
