Are you a commercially focused finance leader looking for an opportunity to make a genuine impact within a fast-paced and growing business?

We are recruiting for a Head of Finance to join an established FMCG organisation based in Maidstone. This is a senior leadership position where you will take ownership of the finance function while working closely with the senior management team to drive performance, improve profitability and support the continued growth of the business.

The Role

As Head of Finance, you will lead the finance function and provide high-quality financial and commercial insight across the business.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Taking overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the finance function


• Leading, developing and mentoring the finance team


• Producing and presenting accurate monthly management accounts and board reporting


• Leading the annual budgeting and forecasting processes


• Providing commercial analysis and insight to the senior leadership team


• Monitoring and challenging business performance against budgets and forecasts


• Analysing margins, product profitability, pricing and costs


• Working closely with operational and commercial teams to improve profitability


• Managing cash flow, working capital and financial planning


• Developing KPIs and management information to improve visibility of business performance


• Identifying opportunities for process improvements, efficiencies and cost savings


• Ensuring appropriate financial controls, procedures and governance are maintained


• Managing year-end requirements and relationships with auditors and external advisers


• Supporting strategic projects, investment decisions and future growth plans


• Driving improvements in finance systems, reporting and processes

We are looking for a commercially minded finance professional who can combine strong financial control with the ability to influence the wider business.

Ideally, you will:

• Be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)


• Have experience working within FMCG, manufacturing, food & beverage, distribution or another fast-paced product-led environment


• Have operated at Head of Finance, Financial Controller or similar senior finance level


• Have strong management accounting, budgeting and forecasting experience


• Understand margin analysis, costing, stock, working capital and commercial performance


• Be confident partnering with non-finance stakeholders


• Have experience managing and developing a finance team


• Be comfortable challenging existing processes and driving improvements


• Have a proactive, hands-on approach while being capable of operating strategically
