About us

UCL’s newly established Faculty and Professional Services Finance team has been set up to deliver high\-quality, consistent front\-line finance support to Faculties, Departments and Divisions across UCL. The team is accountable for ensuring effective financial management support across operational finance activity, providing accurate reporting, planning and advice that enables stakeholders to understand and manage their financial performance. Created from the consolidation of devolved finance support from across UCL, the establishment of the team is part of a wider institutional priority to strengthen financial control and compliance.
We need someone to lead this team. Could it be you?
About the role

In this job you’ll lead a team of circa 80 staff and be accountable for embedding new ways of working, improving consistency and data quality, and driving service improvement across finance processes. You’ll also be required to build effective relationships across Finance, Faculties and Professional Services to support joined\-up service delivery. You’ll bring your energies to bear on a mixture of leadership and capability building, operational finance leadership, and service transformation and continuous improvement.

About you

To do this job you’ll need to be a fully qualified accountant with significant post qualification experience in an operational finance role and successful experience of first\-class service delivery, including building trust and credibility amongst senior stakeholders. You’ll have a track record of financial leadership and driving continuous improvement across people, processes and technology
Successful experience of managing a large team, including the ability to effectively delegate and manage performance to provide a quality service, is essential, as is experience of managing conflict in teams or between stakeholders to deliver results at pace.
