We are delighted to be supporting a high-performing secondary school in Kent with the appointment of an experienced and inspirational Head of Dance to lead a thriving and successful department.

This is a rare opportunity for a qualified Dance Teacher with QTS and proven UK teaching experience to take on a leadership role within a centre recognised for excellence in Dance and Performing Arts.

The Role

The successful candidate will:

• Lead and further develop a highly successful Dance department


• Teach Dance across KS3, GCSE Dance at KS4, and RSL Dance at KS5


• Inspire students through high-quality teaching in mirrored, spring-floor studios and a purpose-built community theatre


• Drive examination success while maintaining inclusive, creative and engaging practice


• Champion extra-curricular Dance, including local and national performance opportunities


• Build strong relationships with external partners to ensure Dance remains accessible and aspirational

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a Dance specialist who:

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)


• Has strong UK secondary teaching experience in Dance


• Has a proven track record of excellent exam outcomes


• Demonstrates clear leadership potential or existing middle leadership experience


• Is passionate about developing young people through Performing Arts


• Is highly organised, reflective and committed to continuous improvement
