Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

Hours: Shift work including weekends and bank holidays, live in accommodation available for the right candidate.

Jade Recruitment is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established and respected hotel in the Reigate area for an experienced Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef looking to step up to join their team on a permanent full-time basis.

Our client is a long-established independent hotel in Surrey with 50 bedrooms, six versatile function suites, a busy lounge bar and restaurant, and a thriving weddings and events business. Food is at the heart of every guest experience, and we are looking for a Head Chef who shares our passion for quality, consistency and hospitality.

About You

You will have a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience within a hotel, ideally as a Head Chef. You’ll be a confident leader with strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to perform under pressure.

You will be responsible for the food culture within the hotel, working closely with management to develop menus, maintain standards and drive the kitchen forward. We are looking for someone who leads by example, supports their team and takes pride in delivering exceptional food and service.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the day-to-day kitchen operation


• Oversee restaurant, weddings, conferences and event catering


• Develop seasonal menus and specials alongside management


• Manage stock control, ordering, GP margins and labour costs


• Lead, train and develop the kitchen team


• Ensure consistently high food quality and presentation standards


• Take responsibility for the food safety and hygiene management system to maintain a 5-star food hygiene rating


• Ensure compliance with food hygiene, HACCP, health & safety and fire regulations


• Maintain a clean, organised and efficient kitchen environment


• Work closely with front-of-house and management teams to deliver excellent guest experiences
