Guesthouse Manager

We are looking for a Guesthouse Manager to join our team and help ensure the smooth day\-to\-day running of Hygge House, our 7\-room guesthouse in Lisbon.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hospitality, guest interaction, and keeping daily operations organized while ensuring a welcoming and positive experience for every guest.

Guest Experience \& Operations

• Oversee the daily operations of the guesthouse.


• Ensure a smooth guest experience, including check\-in, check\-out, and general guest support.


• Respond to guest inquiries, requests, and complaints in a professional and timely manner.


• Resolve operational and guest\-related issues effectively.


• Monitor guest satisfaction and identify opportunities to improve service quality.


• Ensure guesthouse procedures and service standards are consistently followed.

• Coordinate and supervise housekeeping and other operational staff.


• Ensure appropriate staff coverage according to operational needs.


• Support the onboarding and training of new team members.


• Monitor the cleanliness, organization, and overall presentation of the guesthouse.


• Identify maintenance issues and coordinate repairs or interventions when necessary.


• Monitor supplies and ensure essential items are properly stocked.


• Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and service providers when required.

• Support the management of reservations and guest\-related processes.


• Maintain accurate operational records and follow internal procedures.


• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and guesthouse operational standards.


• Report relevant operational issues and recurring guest feedback to management.

• Previous experience in hospitality, guesthouse/hotel operations, alojamento local (AL), or a similar role.


• Previous experience supervising or coordinating a team is preferred.


• Fluency in English and Portuguese, both written and spoken.


• Excellent communication and customer service skills.


• Strong organizational and problem\-solving abilities.


• Ability to manage priorities and make decisions effectively.


• High level of attention to detail and responsibility.


• Hands\-on and proactive approach to daily operations.

The position requires a flexible schedule, including weekend shifts based on operational needs.
