The Role
The Group Head of Finance plays a pivotal role in overseeing the organisation’s financial performance and leading its accounting operations. The position is responsible for supporting sustainable revenue and financial growth, developing robust financial strategies, maintaining effective internal controls, delivering against organisational objectives, and producing financial plans that align with and support the wider business strategy.
This position demands both operational involvement in regular financial routines and the ability to drive the evolution of systems and processes as the business expands and its operational requirements become more sophisticated.
The key components of the role will include:
- Ownership of financial accounting|control|reporting, risk, governance & compliance
- Ownership of management accounting, month-end & BAU finance
- Ownership of process & continuous improvement including controls, systems, automation & AI enablement
- Supporting with Board reporting, FP&A, commercial finance and corporate finance & development
- External relationship management - suppliers & Advisors (Auditors, Legal, Taxation, Lenders)
The position of Group Head of Finance is based in the central belt of Scotland with strong hybrid & flexible working options which enables applications from both the East & West of Scotland. The role will also offer:

- Qualified Accountant with significant post qualification sector experience
- Strong group finance - must be a complex multi entity exposure
- Energy, Renewables, Infrastructure sector experience is advantageous but not essential
