We’re looking for an experienced Group Financial Accountant to take ownership of the Group’s financial control, reporting and accounting activities across our UK, Turkey, Poland and USA operations.
Working closely with the Finance Director and reporting directly to the Managing Director, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our financial information is accurate, timely and robust, while providing strong technical accounting and financial control expertise across the business.
The role will also involve some international travel.
What You’ll Be Doing
· Prepare monthly management accounts and annual financial statements for all Group entities.
· Lead the month\-end and year\-end close process in line with the Group timetable.
· Ensure financial reporting is accurate, robust and delivered on time.
· Manage monthly intercompany reconciliations and Group consolidation.
· Prepare the Group P\&L and Balance Sheet in line with the monthly reporting timetable.
· Oversee banking controls across the Group.
· Manage cash reporting and forecasting.
· Manage bank facilities and banking relationships.
· Monitor Group liquidity and headroom while supporting the needs of the business and supplier base.
· Lead and manage the annual audit process across all Group entities.
· Liaise with UK and overseas audit teams.
· Ensure clear reconciliation between financial reporting and management accounts.
· Oversee the preparation and completion of local tax computations and returns.
· Ensure compliance with relevant tax authorities and financial regulations.
· Lead the global finance function, supporting consistent accounting policies, processes and reporting across the Group.
· Work closely with senior stakeholders to provide insight and support effective financial decision\-making.
· Support the continued development and improvement of Group financial controls and processes.
· Travel internationally as required.
The Ideal Candidate
Essential
- Fully qualified accountant – ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
- Strong post\-qualification experience in a senior financial control, Group Finance or Financial Controller position.
- Experience managing financial reporting across multiple entities.
- Strong technical accounting and financial control knowledge.
- Experience of Group consolidation and intercompany accounting.
- Strong understanding of balance sheet control and working capital.
- Experience managing external audit and statutory reporting.
- Strong Excel and financial systems capability.
- Strong analytical and problem\-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working in an international and/or multi\-currency environment.
- Experience within a manufacturing, FMCG or food ingredients environment.
- Experience working across UK and European subsidiaries.
- Experience of transfer pricing and international tax arrangements.
