Graduate Mechanical Engineer / Environmental Test Engineer
Applus\+ 3C Test Ltd is an independent commercial laboratory specialising in a variety of Environmental Testing across a wide range of industries, including Automotive, Aerospace, Military, Rail, Telecommunications and Medical sectors.
We are seeking a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join our Environmental Test Laboratory in Silverstone, UK as an Environmental Test Engineer. The role involves conducting a variety of environmental tests including vibration, shock, temperature, humidity, salt corrosion and altitude, on customer products and components.

Key Requirements
- Eligibility to work in the UK (we cannot currently accept Graduate Visas).
- Full UK driving licence or willingness to live locally for reliable commuting.
- Permanent on site early shift: Monday–Friday, 06:00–14:00.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BEng/BSc) or similar.
- HNC/HND/NVQ Level 4 in Mechanical Engineering with relevant experience also considered.
- Strong command of written and spoken English.
- Perform environmental tests to customer requirements and international standards, following 3C Test Technical Procedures and ISO17025/UKAS quality expectations.
- Set up and execute tests, including instrumentation selection and control strategies.
- Produce accurate test reports and maintain clear project documentation using Microsoft Word, Excel and automated test systems.
- Communicate project status to Project Managers and Laboratory Supervisors.
- Ensure test plans are completed within quoted timescales and flag delays early.
- Liaise with customers to resolve technical queries.
- Support commissioning, calibration and verification of test equipment.
- Monitor equipment condition, report failures, and ensure correct operation.
- Assist with general laboratory duties, housekeeping and maintaining 5S standards.
- Verify that equipment under test (EUT) is correctly defined and prepared before testing.
- Report inconsistencies in documentation or procedures to senior staff.
- Work safely and report any Health \& Safety concerns immediately.
- Operating electrodynamic vibration systems and/or other Environmental Test Equipment.
- Experience with engineering workshop tools, fixture design and mechanical modifications.
