Graduate Additive Manufacturing Engineer

Operating in Tewkesbury since 1986, we work for some of the leading organisations in the UK. We manufacture products for customers who operate principally in the defence and security sectors using the latest CNC equipment.

We are proud to have an established and family led Senior Leadership Team in place to ensure our operations run efficiently 24 hours a day across our 3 manufacturing sites in the Tewkesbury area. Our strong foundations and expertise help our team and customers feel confident working with us.

It is a very exciting period of growth at Geometric. Recent expansion and investment into additive manufacturing technology (3D Printing), means that we are now seeking a committed and ambitious graduate to join our team based at our factory in Bredon, Tewkesbury.

Within this role, you will develop your skills and learn how to:

  • Operate and support the daily running of industrial additive manufacturing/3D printing equipment.

  • Prepare components for manufacture, including part orientation, support generation, build preparation and process optimisation.

  • Produce prototypes, tooling, fixtures and production components using additive manufacturing.

  • Work alongside our CNC machining team to identify opportunities for additive, subtractive and hybrid manufacturing.

  • Support the design and manufacture of 3D\-printed jigs, fixtures, tooling and other manufacturing aids.

  • Assist with Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) and the development of new applications and processes.

  • Investigate build failures and manufacturing issues, using root\-cause analysis and continuous improvement techniques.

  • Inspect and measure components and maintain accurate production, process and quality records.

  • Develop and maintain manufacturing processes, work instructions and technical documentation.

  • Work closely with Engineering, Production, Quality and CNC Programming teams to deliver high\-quality components to customer requirements.

  • Ensure all work is undertaken in accordance with company quality, health \& safety and defence\-related requirements.
You’ll succeed in this role and will enjoy working with us if:
  • You have achieved a 2:1 or above in an Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or Additive Manufacturing focused degree

  • Ideally, you have \> 1 year previous experience working in an engineering focused role (preferably within machining).

  • A genuine interest in 3D printing, advanced manufacturing and engineering technology

  • You want to enjoy coming to work every day, knowing that the work that you do has purpose and impact globally

  • You take pride in being diligent and completing tasks right first time

  • You enjoy working reasonably independently but can work within agreed policies and procedures

  • You communicate professionally and build credibility and rapport with key stakeholders quickly

  • You always looking for opportunities to drive improvements
What is in it for you?
  • £14\.80 per hour (equating to £30,014 per annum) with annual pay reviews taking place every March.

  • 24 days paid holiday (in addition to statutory holidays), with extra holiday earned with long service

  • 39 hours per week with an early finish every Friday (Mon \- Thurs 08:00 \- 16:30 and Friday 08:00 \- 13:00\)

  • Scope for movement onto our 4 day rotating shift (grants a 4 day weekend every fortnight) after settling in to the role and business

The Process
