Job description

A very exciting opportunity to join our friendly GP Surgery in Bussage. You will be based mainly with our Dispensary team and working towards a Level 2 (GCSE) qualification with our nominated training provider. You will also work within other areas of the practice, gaining experience in Reception and Administration.

This is a part time role with around 14 hours per week spent in our dispensary and a further 9 hours per week with our reception team. You will also be allotted dedicated study time each week.

Duties and responsibilities include:

• To action repeat prescription requests and ensure that they are ready for collection by the patient with 48 hours, either on the computer or manually


• To ensure that all monies received or handled on behalf of the practice are appropriately stored and a record kept of all financial transactions


• Ordering majority of drugs via the wholesaler’s computer link in appropriate quantities.


• Checking goods as and when they are delivered and recording details onto the computer ensuring stock is correct and returning incorrect goods to the wholesalers


• Provide general assistance to clinical staff and promptly act upon any instructions from the doctors

The post\-holder will participate in the Level 2 training programme implemented by the practice as part of this employment. You will:

This opportunity is ideal for those looking to begin a career in pharmacy or healthcare. To be eligible you must:

• Have a right to work and abode in the UK and have been ordinarily resident in the UK for at least the previous three years. Additional eligibility rules apply to EEA nationals and non\-UK nationals


• Be aged 16 years or over


• Not be in full\-time education or enrolled onto another government\-funded programme


• GCSESs in English and Maths (grade 9 to 4 (A\* to C))
