Mowchi started with a simple idea: bring premium matcha, specialty coffee, bubble tea, and Asian\-fusion flavours together under one very cosy roof. Think minimalist café aesthetics, warm neutral tones, subtle East Asian street\-food inspiration and an atmosphere that feels like your favourite corner of the internet but IRL.
We’re building spaces that feel like a soft reset from the London rush: places to sip slowly, catch up with friends, get lost in your playlists, or power through work with a cup of something delicious!
And now… we’re looking for *our* person. Someone who gets the vibe and knows how to lead a team with drive and intention.
The Role
The General Manager is the heartbeat of the café, the person who keeps the team aligned, the ops flowing and the guest experience consistently 10/10\.
This is an on\-site role based in Camden, London and it's perfect for someone who thrives in a fast paced environment but also appreciates calm energy, attention to detail and of course a beautiful service.
You’ll Own…
Day to Day Leadership
- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of legends.
- Create a culture that feels uplifting, inclusive and genuinely fun to be part of.
- Set the tone every day, from playlist to customer vibes.
- Uphold exceptional drink quality across coffee, matcha, boba \+ signature specials.
- Coach baristas on technique, speed, consistency and presentation.
- Maintain equipment and partner with suppliers to keep quality top\-tier.
- Oversee scheduling, labour management, inventory and ordering.
- Monitor daily/weekly financial performance and optimise where needed.
- Drive efficiency without compromising the warmth of the guest experience.
- Ensure the café looks and feels perfect at all times.
- Hold high standards in cleanliness, organisation, and visual detail.
- Create a welcoming environment that feels safe, friendly and community focused.
- Maintain food safety and hygiene standards (always above and beyond!).
- Make sure every policy, process and health regulation is consistently followed.
- Be a key voice in shaping how Mowchi evolves as we expand.
- Train rising stars and support the development of next gen managers.
- Bring fresh ideas, new experiences and new ways to connect with our guests.
- A natural leader who inspires trust and clarity.
- Someone who loves hospitality, the people, the energy, the craft.
- Obsessed with coffee, matcha or any of our drinks!
- Organised, reliable, and strong on follow through.
- Experienced in managing a café, coffee shop or similar environment.
- Confident in financial management, planning, scheduling and cost control.
- Comfortable navigating busy moments with a cool head.
- A positive force, someone who builds community and lifts the team.
- Flexible with shifts (weekends \+ occasional holidays included).
- Experience leading a team in hospitality (coffee experience is a big plus\+\+\+).
- Strong communication and people first leadership skills.
- Operational competence: inventory, staffing, cost controls, and problem\-solving.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
- A deep appreciation for our spaces and service that feels intentional.
- A genuine passion for the Mowchi world, flavour, design, culture and community.
Pay: Up to £35,000\.00 per year
