General Manager – The Arch Bar, Main Street, Swords
*Full\-time \| €65,000 plus*
We're looking for an experienced General Manager to run a busy, high\-energy venue with strong food, drink and live entertainment.
Key Responsibilities
*Operations*
- Run day\-to\-day operations across bar, kitchen and events, keeping service standards high at peak times
- Make sure opening and closing, cash handling and security procedures are followed
- Keep the venue compliant with licensing law, food safety (HACCP/FSAI), health and safety, and fire regulations
- Recruit, train, and keep a strong front\-of\-house team, working closely with the Head Chef
- Build rosters that match demand and control labour costs
- Handle performance management, disciplinaries, and staff welfare in line with employment law
- Build a team culture people want to stay in
- Manage targets for sales, GP% and wage %
- Control waste and manage supplier ordering
- Report weekly on sales, costs and KPIs to the directors
- Manage cash\-ups, lodgements and petty cash
- Manage private bookings and functions from enquiry to delivery
- Drive footfall through promotions, events and social media
- Liaise with social media manager for weekly schedule
- At least 3 years' management experience in a high\-volume bar or hospitality venue
- Strong commercial knowledge: GP, labour costing, P\&L
- Food and drink experience, including working with a kitchen team
- Knowledge of Irish licensing and employment law
- Calm under pressure, with excellent people skills
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays
- Desirable: HACCP certification, experience with rostering systems, social media experience
