The Gleneagle Group is seeking a reliable, skilled, and proactive General Maintenance Operative to support the smooth running of our hotel and entertainment complex. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands‑on work, problem‑solving, and being part of a supportive, fast‑paced environment.
As a General Maintenance Operative, you will play a key role in ensuring our facilities are safe, well‑maintained, and presented to the highest standard. You will work closely with the Maintenance Manager and wider team to carry out daily tasks, respond to maintenance requests, and support ongoing improvement projects.
About The Role
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general maintenance duties including basic plumbing, carpentry, painting, and minor repairs
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from departments across the hotel
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment, fixtures, and public areas
- Support planned preventative maintenance programmes
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with health \& safety procedures
- Assist with setup and maintenance for events, functions, and seasonal operations
- Maintain tools, equipment, and workshop areas in good working order
- Work collaboratively with the maintenance team to deliver a high standard of service### About You
+ Strong practical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues
+ A positive, can‑do attitude with a commitment to high standards
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
+ Good communication and organisational skills
+ Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends, when required
+ A qualification in a trade (plumbing, electrical, carpentry) is an advantage but not essential
