Purpose of the Role

We are looking for an experienced administrator to provide cross\-functional administration and general support to our volunteer coordinators and head office team, as well as being a first point of contact for people making general enquiries about SoBS.

Your responsibilities will span the day\-to\-day operational running of the charity’s administrative functions. This includes managing stock, physical resources, and our online shop; maintaining accurate GDPR compliance records for volunteer groups; supporting our email services; and providing administrative assistance to the financial controller, including Gift Aid\-related tasks.

You will proactively keep the live signposting document and SoBS information on partner websites up to date and correctly branded. You will also support events, seasonal activities such as Christmas, SpeakOUT, and BereaveMENt, and provide holiday cover across the admin team.

You’ll be a key part of our small, dedicated team, helping to steward the charity through a period of growth and increased impact.

About You

Ideally you will:

  • Be logical, well organised and able to see a job through from beginning to end while remaining flexible to meet the needs of the team and the day

  • Have previous office administration experience

  • Pay attention to detail

  • Be computer literate and able to work on all aspects of MS Office and Better Impact

  • Be able to work as part of a team supporting those going through a difficult time in their lives
Key Responsibilities

General Administration:

  • Act as a first point of contact for general enquiries, handling communications with sensitivity and professionalism

  • Support with administrative tasks related to events, Christmas activities, printing, photocopying, and initiatives such as SpeakOUT and BereaveMENt

  • Deal with internal and external phone, email and postal enquiries from professionals, volunteers and survivors with sensitivity

  • Input and update relevant computer systems including Microsoft Office 365 and Better Impact

  • Undertake general clerical duties, for example filing, data cleansing, collation of information folders, and all forms of communication and correspondence

  • Provide cover for other members of the administration team as necessary

  • Carry out any other reasonable duties which may arise within the scope of this post

  • Commit to, and work within, the aims, principles and policies of SoBS

  • Work in conjunction with the CEO
Pay: From £12\.71 per hour
