About Us

Macfarlane Heating Services is a growing, family\-run business based in Ayrshire, covering domestic and commercial heating work across the West of Scotland.

We carry out a wide range of work including boiler breakdowns, servicing, installations, controls, and commercial heating systems. We’ve built a strong reputation for quality workmanship, reliability, and customer service — and due to continued growth, we’re looking to add another engineer to the team.

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced and reliable Gas Engineer to join our team.

This is a varied role covering:

• Boiler servicing and breakdowns


• Fault finding on heating systems and controls


• Boiler and heating installations


• Gas Safety Records


• General plumbing/heating works


• Customer\-facing work across domestic and commercial properties

The role would suit someone who enjoys problem\-solving, takes pride in their work, and can work confidently both independently and as part of a team.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has strong fault\-finding and diagnostic skills


• Can carry out installations to a high standard


• Works cleanly and professionally


• Communicates well with customers


• Is reliable, motivated, and takes pride in their work


• Can manage their own workload and think on their feet

Requirements

• Current ACS Gas Qualifications (CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1\)


• Minimum 2 years’ experience preferred


• Full UK driving licence


• Right to work in the UK

Beneficial (but not essential)

Experience in any of the below would be a major advantage:

• LPG


• Oil


• Commercial gas


• Air source heat pumps


• Wiring/controls experience
