About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Domestic Gas \& Plumbing Engineer to join our growing team covering Stockport and the surrounding areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out gas servicing, fault finding, repairs, boiler installations, and domestic plumbing works to a high standard while delivering excellent customer service.
The role involves working in occupied domestic properties, diagnosing faults, completing repairs, and ensuring all work complies with current Gas Safe regulations and industry standards. Domestic gas engineers typically undertake servicing, breakdowns, repairs, installations, and plumbing maintenance within residential properties.
Key Responsibilities
Gas Engineering Duties
- Service, maintain and repair domestic gas boilers and heating systems.
- Diagnose and rectify boiler and heating system faults.
- Carry out landlord gas safety inspections (CP12 certificates).
- Install and commission domestic gas boilers and heating systems.
- Complete combi boiler swaps and full heating system upgrades.
- Ensure all gas work complies with current Gas Safe regulations.
- Diagnose and repair plumbing faults.
- Replace taps, valves, radiators and cylinders.
- Carry out pipework alterations and repairs.
- Resolve leaks and drainage issues.
- Install and maintain domestic hot and cold water systems.
- Deliver excellent customer service at all times.
- Explain faults and repairs clearly to customers.
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude.
- Ensure work areas are left clean and tidy after completion.
- Complete job reports using company software.
- Record all parts used and work completed.
- Ensure all paperwork and certification are completed accurately.
- Manage workload efficiently and meet scheduled appointments.
- Current Gas Safe Registration.
- ACS Qualifications:
- CCN1
- CENWAT
- CPA1
- CKR1
- HTR1
- Minimum 3 years' experience in domestic gas servicing and repairs.
- Strong boiler fault\-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience with domestic plumbing repairs and maintenance.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Unvented Hot Water Qualification (G3\).
- LPG Qualification.
- WRAS Awareness.
- Renewable Energy Experience (Air Source Heat Pumps).
- Electrical fault\-finding knowledge.
- Hourly Rate: £19\.00
