What this actually is
We're looking for someone who loves creating order from chaos, takes pride in making spaces beautiful, and enjoys the quiet satisfaction of a home that simply works.
This isn't about rushing through a cleaning checklist. It's about being the person who makes a house feel like a home — where everything has its place, good food appears at the right times, the dog is happy, and the owner never has to think about household tasks.
You'll work for a single professional who runs a business from home and travels for work. He has ADHD — brilliant, but organisationally creative! — so your systems, routines and calm presence are what keep his world running. In return, you'll be trusted, respected and given real autonomy over how you do your job.
What you'll do
- Keep the home clean and organised — kitchen, living areas, bedroom, bathrooms, laundry and wardrobes
- Plan and prepare simple, healthy meals, and keep the kitchen stocked (batch cooking welcome)
- Look after Max, a loveable aging red Labrador — daily walks, feeding, and trips to the vet or rehab
- Handle household admin — coordinating tradespeople, garden, window cleaners, managing deliveries, sorting mail, reordering supplies online before they run out
- Run errands — shopping, pharmacy, post office
- Life administration, helping with booking appointments, dentist, doctors, etc
Who you are
- Fluent spoken English — you can follow instructions, chat about the day\-to\-day, and text clearly in English (essential, tested at every stage)
- Naturally organised — you create systems and keep them running without being asked
- Independent and proactive — you see what needs doing and do it
- Reliable, trustworthy and discreet — this is someone's home and private space
- Patient and calm — plans sometimes change at short notice, and you take it in your stride
- A confident cook, comfortable with dogs, with a driving licence
- Experienced in housekeeping or household management, with references
The practical stuff
- Full\-time, Monday–Friday (schedule agreed together)
- €1,300–€1,500 gross per month depending on experience.
- Formal Portuguese contract — full social security, 22 days' holiday plus public holidays, and June and December bonuses (14\-month structure)
- A respectful, professional employer and a calm, modern home — not a mansion, and not chaos
- Use of gym
