Front of House Supervisor

From £13\.40 per hour (aged 21\+), plus tronc.

We’re looking for a Front of House Supervisor to join our small team at The Miller, a pub, restaurant and hotel in the centre of Goring.

You’ll spend your shifts looking after guests, working across the bar and restaurant and helping the team stay organised. Some days that means keeping a busy service moving; others, showing a new colleague how things work or taking the time to chat with our regulars.

You don’t need to know everything on day one. If you’ve got good bar or restaurant experience and are ready for more responsibility, we’d like to hear from you. We’ll help you learn our systems and build confidence with running shifts, cashing up and supporting the team.

What the role involves

• Serving behind the bar and looking after tables.


• Leading shifts and making sure everyone knows what needs doing.


• Helping newer team members learn the job.


• Working with the kitchen to keep service running smoothly.


• Dealing with guest questions and putting things right when needed.


• Opening, closing and cashing up once trained.


• Keeping the bar and restaurant clean, stocked and ready for service.

A little about you

You’ll have experience working in a pub, restaurant or hotel and be comfortable talking to guests. Previous supervisory experience is welcome, but we’re also happy to hear from someone ready for their first supervisor role.

Being reliable, willing to help and able to communicate clearly matters to us. You should be happy to take responsibility, with support from the management team as you settle in.

The role includes evenings and weekends. We’re in Goring\-on\-Thames, not Reading town centre, so please check that you can get here and home reliably, including after a closing shift.
