Front of house supervisor
Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Front of House Supervisor to oversee daily operations within our vibrant hospitality environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for exceptional service, and a comprehensive understanding of food and beverage service standards. This role involves supervising front\-of\-house staff, ensuring excellent customer experiences, and maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness. The position offers an opportunity to lead a dedicated team in a fast\-paced setting, fostering a welcoming atmosphere for guests and staff alike.
We are happy to employ someone for around 30th and these hours can be completed over 3/4days a week.
This person MUST beable to work weekends. Occasionally evenings but mostly with a finish between 5/6pn
Must have at least 3yrs experience as there will be occasions where this person will be completely running shifts with younger staff members. They will also have to manage a staff team and deal with customers.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate front\-of\-house staff, including servers, hosts, and baristas, ensuring smooth service delivery.
- Oversee food preparation and serving processes to guarantee quality standards are met consistently.
- Assist with food production when necessary, supporting kitchen staff during busy periods.
- Manage reservations, seating arrangements, and optimise table utilisation to maximise efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene throughout the establishment.
- Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer service, addressing guest concerns promptly and professionally.
- Organise staff schedules, monitor performance, and provide training to enhance team skills and cohesion.
- Collaborate with management on menu planning, special events, and promotional activities.
- Maintain cleanliness of the front\-of\-house area, including dining spaces and service stations.
- Support bar operations if required, including barista duties or overseeing bar staff.
- Proven supervisory experience within a restaurant or hospitality setting is essential.
- Extensive knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety protocols.
- Experience in managing teams in busy environments such as restaurants or hotels is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with restaurant operations, including serving standards and customer service excellence.
- Previous experience with food production or kitchen experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of hospitality industry best practices related to leadership, organisation, and guest relations.
