At Enoteca By L’UVA, we’re proud to be a genuinely independent Italian restaurant built around authentic hospitality, great food, exceptional wines, and a warm welcome. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a confident and experienced Front of House Manager on Duty to join our management team.
This is a hands\-on leadership role for someone who thrives on the restaurant floor, enjoys building relationships with guests, and can lead a team with energy, professionalism, and attention to detail. You’ll be trusted to take ownership of shifts, ensure smooth day\-to\-day operations, and help maintain the high standards that our guests have come to expect.
The Role
As Front of House Manager on Duty, you will be responsible for overseeing service, supporting the team, and ensuring every guest receives an exceptional dining experience from arrival to departure.
This is not a desk\-based management position. You’ll be actively involved in all aspects of service, leading from the front and setting the standard for the rest of the team.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience \& Service
- Deliver exceptional hospitality and create memorable guest experiences
- Welcome and seat guests while managing the flow of service
- Take food and drink orders with confidence and product knowledge
- Provide professional wine service and beverage recommendations
- Ensure guest satisfaction throughout service
- Handle guest feedback and complaints effectively and professionally
- Lead and motivate front\-of\-house team members during service
- Train, coach, and develop new and existing staff
- Conduct shift briefings and communicate daily priorities
- Support the creation of a positive, high\-performing team culture
- Ensure company standards and procedures are consistently followed
- Take responsibility for opening and closing procedures
- Manage bookings, reservations, and table allocation
- Oversee cash handling and end\-of\-day reconciliation procedures
- Assist with stock ordering, stock control, and supplier deliveries
- Ensure compliance with food safety, licensing, and health \& safety requirements
- Support management with operational improvements and business development initiatives
- Assist with restaurant promotions and social media content
- Help drive sales through excellent service and product knowledge
- Support special events, wine tastings, and seasonal campaigns
- Adapt to the varied nature of independent restaurant operations—because every day is different
Essential
- Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within hospitality
- Strong restaurant floor presence and leadership skills
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities
- Experience handling guest concerns and resolving issues confidently
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to perform under pressure in a busy service environment
- A genuine passion for hospitality, food, and wine
- Wine knowledge or an interest in developing wine expertise
- Cocktail and bar experience
- Barista experience
- Experience with reservations systems
- Stock management and ordering experience
- Personal Licence holder (or willingness to obtain one)
