About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Freelance Project Manager / Site Manager to deliver multiple refurbishment projects during the peak summer holiday period (July and August).

This is a full\-time, fixed\-term contract focused entirely on our projects during this period, typically managing 3–5 live sites simultaneously.

This role is ideal for freelance Project Managers who plan their workload around summer shutdown projects in schools and similar environments.

Key Requirement – Summer Availability

• You must be fully available throughout July and August


• Able to commit full\-time across this period


• Comfortable managing multiple fast\-paced projects running concurrently

This is our busiest delivery window, and the role is critical to successful project completion.

Project Types

Projects typically include:

• School washroom refurbishments


• Laboratory refurbishments


• Food technology classroom refurbishments


• General internal refurbishment and fit\-out works

Key Responsibilities

• Manage multiple refurbishment projects concurrently during the summer period


• Coordinate subcontractors, trades, and suppliers across several sites


• Travel between sites to monitor progress, quality, and programme


• Plan and manage project timelines to meet strict completion deadlines


• Ensure all works are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard


• Act as the main point of contact for clients


• Maintain strong health \& safety compliance across all sites


• Proactively resolve issues to keep projects on track

Typical Project Scope

Projects may include:

• Vinyl flooring installations


• Electrical works (power, lighting upgrades)


• Plumbing works


• Suspended ceilings


• Decorating and finishing


• Minor building works (stud walls, door adjustments)


• Installation of fitted furniture and appliances

About You

• Experienced Project Manager / Site Manager in refurbishment or fit\-out


• Proven ability to manage multiple sites simultaneously under tight deadlines


• Available to commit fully across July and August


• Highly organised and capable of managing fast\-paced programmes


• Strong leadership and communication skills


• Proactive, delivery\-focused, and solution\-driven


• Comfortable travelling regularly between sites

Requirements

• Proven track record in refurbishment project delivery


• SMSTS or SSSTS (preferred)


• CSCS card (required)


• Strong knowledge of construction trades and sequencing


• Full UK driving licence
