Hours: 8–16 hours per week, flexible — you manage your own schedule. As the role develops, this will grow towards a full\-time position.

The Role
We’re Douthwaites, an established importer of artificial flowers, preserved florals, and event accessories. We supply florists, event planners, and retailers across the UK and internationally.
We're expanding into new markets and launching a new direct\-to\-consumer channel. The project is in the early stages, so you'll be involved from the start: inputting on the brand direction, website content, and marketing strategy from day one.
As the role develops, you’ll also get involved with the digital marketing for our existing wholesale trade brand. You’d evaluate what’s working, take over where it makes sense.
What You’ll Be Doing
Brand Building \& Content
- Help shape the brand identity, tone of voice, and visual style for the new B2C site
- Input on website content during the build phase: product descriptions, collection pages, homepage copy, and brand storytelling
- Create content calendars and produce regular content for social media, email, and the website
- Visit our Wetherby warehouse occasionally to photograph products and create lifestyle imagery
- As the role grows, review and get involved with our existing trade brand’s digital presence
- Set up and manage Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and Facebook accounts for the new brand
- Build an audience from zero — this is a brand new account with no existing following
- Engage with followers, build community, and identify influencer collaboration opportunities
- Build email lists from day one — pre\-launch waitlists, pop\-ups, lead magnets
- Plan and send regular campaigns tied to seasonal moments (wedding season, Christmas, Valentine’s, Mother’s Day)
- Manage day\-to\-day website content on Shopify: uploading new products, updating banners, adjusting pricing, writing collection pages
- Coordinate with the web developer for technical changes or improvements
- Monitor site performance, uptime, and user experience
- 2\+ years’ experience in digital marketing, ideally with e\-commerce or consumer brand experience
- Strong experience with Shopify — comfortable managing products, content, email flows, and day\-to\-day site updates
- Proven track record of growing social media accounts with measurable results — show us the accounts and the numbers
- Strong visual eye — comfortable creating on\-brand content with tools like Canva, CapCut, Adobe Express, or similar
- Good copywriting skills across different tones of voice
- Self\-motivated and organised — you’ll be working remotely and managing your own time with minimal supervision
- An interest in home interiors, florals, events, or lifestyle products is a plus but not essential
- Experience running paid ad campaigns on Google and/or Meta (Facebook/Instagram)
- Understanding of Google Shopping feeds and product advertising
- Experience with Google Analytics and conversion tracking
- SEO experience beyond the basics
- Help build a brand from scratch — a genuine blank canvas with creative freedom
- Flexible, remote working — set your own schedule around 8–16 hours per week
- A role that grows with the business — as the brand develops, this is expected to become a full\-time position
- Competitive freelance rate of £15–£20 per hour
- Backed by an established wholesale business with real products, a real supply chain, and genuine ambition to grow
- Creative freedom — we want your ideas, not just your execution
- Free products for content creation and personal use
