Founding Engineer (Generalist)

About the role

Our client is a Pre\-Seed / Seed\-stage startup with a strong founding team and notable angel backing. They are hiring a Founding Engineer to ship the first product and shape the engineering culture. Full\-time, on\-site in Berlin.

What you will do

• Ship the first version of the product end\-to\-end across stack


• Make foundational architecture choices (language, infra, deployment)


• Talk to early users and translate their problems into product


• Set engineering culture: testing, code review, documentation


• Help hire the next 3 to 5 engineers

What we are looking for

• 5\+ years building production software, ideally at an early\-stage startup


• Strong generalist: comfortable across backend, frontend, and infra


• High agency and tolerance for ambiguity


• Track record of shipping fast without breaking the product long\-term


• Bonus: prior 0 to 1 product experience as an early engineer
