Founding Engineer

About the Role

Join an early\-stage B2B SaaS company in the energy tech space as a Founding Engineer. You'll own the core product that drives real\-time optimization and forecasting for commercial and industrial battery storage assets — helping operators turn battery systems into revenue\-generating assets. This is a high\-impact, hands\-on role at the heart of the product and company trajectory.

What You'll Do

• Own and build the core product powering real\-time optimization and forecasting for energy assets.


• Develop backend services and optimization algorithms to process data in real time.


• Create frontend dashboards enabling battery operators to monitor and control assets.


• Design and scale cloud infrastructure to support thousands of battery systems.


• Collaborate cross\-functionally to define product features and requirements.


• Deploy production\-ready optimizations and iterate based on real\-world feedback.

What We're Looking For

Required (dealbreakers):

• Frontend development skills with JavaScript/TypeScript and React (Next.js preferred).


• Proven full\-stack engineering experience building production applications.

• Experience with Tailwind CSS.


• CS, Mathematics, or Electrical Engineering degree (Bachelor's or Master's) with a grade better than 2\.0\.


• Startup experience (company younger than 3 years and fewer than 50 employees).


• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure).


• Solid backend development in Python, including mixed\-integer optimization.


• Fluent German — essential, as the majority of customers operate in German.

• Prior experience in the energy industry.


• Experience deploying optimizations in production systems.

Compensation \& Benefits

• Salary range: $70,000 – $100,000 USD annually.


• Visa sponsorship available.

Location

This is an on\-site role based in Munich, Germany. Candidates must be willing to work from the Munich office.
