Food shop retail manager

Gloagburn Farm Shop is a well\-established, family\-run farm shop and coffee shop on the outskirts of Perth. We are passionate about quality Scottish produce, homemade food and local suppliers. Our busy farm shop has a deli counter, cheese counter, grocery, fruit and veg, butchery, bakery and a range of our own Gloagburn products freshly made in our kitchens.

The Job

We are looking for an enthusiastic and capable Food Shop Retail Manager to lead the day\-to\-day running of our farm shop. This is a hands\-on role requiring physical stamina for someone who loves food, understands high\-quality retail, and can manage and inspire a team to consistently deliver excellent standards.

You will take ownership of the shop floor, support the growth and development of the business, and ensure our customers experience the very best of Gloagburn.

• · Manage the daily operation of the farm shop across deli, cheese, grocery, fruit and veg and Gloagburn products


• · Ensure customer orders are accurately completed and dispatched.


• · Lead, motivate and develop the retail team, providing support and enforcing standards.


• · Deliver exceptional customer service, responding to enquiries and resolving issues professionally.


• · Maintain excellent shop floor standards, including displays, visual merchandising, promotions and product presentation.


• · Showcase the Gloagburn ethos through product knowledge, and attention to detail.


• · Build knowledge of local suppliers, seasonality and provenance.


• · Ensure hygiene, food safety and compliance standards are met consistently.


• · Work at pace in a busy environment, supporting and working alongside your team.

We are looking for someone with leadership skills and a genuine enthusiasm for food, retail and customer service. You will be positive, cheerful and friendly, with the initiative to make decisions and the confidence to lead from the front.

The ideal candidate will have experience in high\-end, artisan or specialist food retail, and be comfortable working in a fast\-paced and varied environment.
