The Birch Hotel is seeking an experienced and highly capable Food Service Manager to lead our food and beverage operation.
This is not a development role. We are looking for an established hospitality professional with a proven track record of leading successful food and beverage operations, developing teams, driving standards, and delivering commercial results.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will act as a key member of the hotel's leadership team and serve as the operational number two for the business. You will be expected to take ownership of the food and beverage operation, lead from the front, and make decisions independently while maintaining the high standards expected by The Birch Hotel.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 5 years' management experience within hotels, restaurants, gastro pubs, or food\-led hospitality businesses
- Demonstrable experience managing teams, payroll, rotas, recruitment, and performance management
- Strong financial awareness, including labour control, stock management, cost control, and budgeting
- Proven ability to establish, maintain, and improve service standards
- Excellent leadership skills with a track record of building and retaining strong teams
- A hands\-on approach with a visible presence on the floor
- Strong attention to detail and a genuine passion for hospitality
- Stable employment history with a record of long\-term commitment and progression
- Lead all food and beverage operations across the hotel
- Drive service standards and guest satisfaction
- Manage recruitment, training, development, and performance of the team
- Oversee rotas, payroll, labour costs, and departmental budgets
- Manage stock control, purchasing, supplier relationships, and inventory management
- Work closely with the kitchen team to deliver a consistent guest experience
- Ensure compliance with food safety, licensing, and health \& safety regulations
- Act as Manager on Duty when required, taking responsibility for the overall hotel operation
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability, efficiency, and guest satisfaction
- Lead by example and foster a positive and accountable team culture

Job Type: Full\-time
Pay: £35,000\.00\-£40,000\.00 per year
