ThePetFoodPeople is a fast\-growing pet nutrition manufacturer. At our site in Porth, we are looking for a super\-reliable, hands\-on Production Operator to take true ownership of their own line on the manufacturing floor.

We don't want machine minders who just push a button and stand there if something goes wrong. We want an active problem\-solver who takes pride in their line. Initially, you will learn our processes from the ground up through physical, repetitive work. Once settled, you will independently set up, run, and mechanically troubleshoot your own small line.

The 6\-12 Month Growth Track: We are scaling rapidly. For the right person, this role is a direct stepping stone. Within 6 to 12 months, you will either fully own a line or onboard and lead a small production pod of 2\-3 people running adjacent lines.

Hours \& Working Environment

  • Shift Pattern: Monday \& Friday (4\-hour shifts), Tuesday to Thursday (10\-hour shifts, 8:00 AM \- 6:00 PM).

  • Total Hours: 34 to 38 hours per week.

  • NO nights, NO weekend shifts.

  • Physical Demands: This is a highly active, physical role in a production environment. You will be on your feet all day, handling repetitive tasks, and safely lifting bags up to 31\.5kg to load mixers.
What You’ll Be Doing
  • Running daily production lines (blending, packing, labelling, prep) to exact SOPs.

  • Owning line start\-ups, product changeovers, and deep clean\-downs (GMP standards).

  • Operating critical safety machinery (metal detection, checkweighing, date coding).

  • Proactive Troubleshooting: If a machine glitches or jams, you step up to fix it, clear it, or adjust it safely rather than waiting for a manager.

  • Collaborating closely with Quality Control (QC) and Despatch to ensure orders move out smoothly.
We’re Looking For Someone Who
  • Turns up on time, every single day, reliability is your baseline.

  • Has mechanical aptitude; you enjoy figuring out how things work and fixing them.

  • Has previous food or pet food production experience (HACCP/hygiene awareness).

  • Thrives when given autonomy and genuinely wants to progress
Pay: £12\.85\-£14\.75 per hour
