Macknade Fine Food Hall creates spaces and experiences that bring communities together around a shared love of food \& drink. Encompassing retail, hospitality, events, food service and farming, the Macknade brand has been synonymous with quality and community since 1847\.

At Macknade, we’re passionate about great food, community, and doing things the right way. We are excited to be looking for a Manager to lead our Food \& Beverage teams across the site, creating an atmosphere of community through a great food and drinks offering.

THE ROLE

As our Food \& Beverage Manager your role will include:

· Championing Macknade’s Favourite Place ethos, ensuring every guest receives warm, memorable and values led hospitality

· Overseeing the day to day operations across all F\&B areas

· Manage the training and embedding of our service first culture, ensuring an environment that is respectful and inclusive for the team and customers

· Creating weekly rota’s that meet customer and business needs

· Monitor and manage stock levels and control processes

· Experience of leading a team within a fast paced hospitality environment

· Strong operational management skills

· Commercial awareness with an understanding of operational KPI’s

This is a full time roe of 42\.5 hours per week, the salary for this role will be £35,000 FTE plus tips

JOB DESCRIPTION

Post: Food \& Beverage Manager

Responsible To: Head of Food \& Beverage

Summary of post: Working closely with the Head of Food \& Beverage, the Manager helps lead teams, embed best practice, and ensure Macknade remains a destination for outstanding food, drink, and customer experience

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational Excellence

• Oversee day to day operations across all F\&B areas – Café, Hop Shed and event delivery, ensuring smooth service, strong communication, and consistent delivery.


• Manage weekly rota’s across all F\&B areas.


• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and compliance across front and back of house.


• Manage the training and embedding of service first culture, and the systems and methods that support this


• Monitor stock levels, manage stock control processes, and help minimise waste while maintaining quality.


• Ensure all licensing laws and age verification policies are followed


• Lead the operational delivery of public events and private functions in the Hop Shed


• Identify opportunities to enhance systems, processes, and team practices to improve efficiency and guest experience.

• Support the Head of F\&B in managing budgets, controlling costs, and identifying opportunities to improve profitability.


• Assist with F\&B food pricing reviews and margin management.


• Track key performance indicators, including sales, labour, waste, and customer feedback, and take action where needed.

• Champion Macknade’s Favourite Place ethos, ensuring every guest receives warm, memorable, and values led hospitality.


• Help lead, motivate, and develop F\&B teams, fostering an inclusive, high performing, guest first culture.


• Support recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing training to build capability and confidence across the department.


• Provide coaching and feedback to supervisors and team members, supporting performance management processes.

• Experience in a leadership role within a fast\-paced hospitality or premium retail environment.


• Strong operational management skills with excellent attention to detail.


• Demonstrated ability to develop and motivate teams.


• Commercial awareness with an understanding of cost control, margin management, and operational KPIs.


• Genuine passion for premium food and drink, with curiosity for industry trends and innovation.


• Customer focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional experiences.


• Confident communicator able to influence and collaborate across teams and levels.
