Amkari Wine Bar, also trading as 80\-20 Shops, is looking for a friendly, reliable and commercially minded Wine Shop Sales Consultant – Wine Bar Assistant.

This is mainly a Georgian wine retail sales role. The key responsibility is to welcome customers, understand their taste, explain wines clearly, and help them choose bottles to buy. The premises also include a small sitting area where customers may be served wine, wine boards and coffee, so some light bar/service work is also part of the role.

Main responsibilities

• Welcome customers and create a warm, professional atmosphere


• Sell wine confidently and help customers choose suitable bottles


• Explain wines, regions, styles and pairings in a simple and engaging way


• Serve wine, wine boards and coffee in the small seating area


• Keep shelves, displays and the shop area clean, attractive and well stocked


• Handle payments and basic till duties


• Support stock control, pricing, deliveries and general shop operations


• Maintain high standards of hygiene, presentation and customer service


• Represent the Amkari / 80\-20 Shops brand with care and professionalism

The ideal candidate

• Has an interest in wine and enjoys speaking with customers


• Previous experience in wine retail, hospitality, bar, café, restaurant or specialist food retail is helpful


• Confident, polite and naturally good with people


• Able to sell without being pushy


• Reliable, organised and attentive to detail


• Willing to learn about Georgian wines and other wines sold by the business


• Comfortable working in a small, independent shop/bar environment

Wine knowledge is an advantage, but attitude, reliability and the ability to communicate well with customers are just as important.
