Do you enjoy how products are tested to ensure performance and reliability from day one? We’re looking for a Fire Test and Approval Engineer who thrives on understanding complex fire safety systems and translating requirements into robust, efficient test strategies.

Join us as we shape the future of fire protection, safeguarding people and property with our cutting\-edge fire safety systems. With Siemens' recent acquisition of Danfoss Fire Safety, you'll be stepping into an exciting, growing organization where you can truly make a significant impact.

This is a key role where you will define how we validate and verify our next\-generation fire extinguishing systems. You’ll work across hardware and system levels, ensuring our solutions meet the highest standards of quality, safety and performance—while supporting certification and conformity in a highly regulated domain.

Your Main Responsibilities:

  • Design Test Strategies: Define test concepts, plans and methodologies across system and component levels.

  • Translate Requirements into Tests: Ensure product and system requirements are fully verified through structured and traceable test cases.

  • Plan and Execute Fire Testing: Be part of a team that plans and executes fire tests, ensuring products meet required performance and safety criteria.

  • Drive Approvals \& Certifications: Support obtaining and maintaining approvals and certifications for our fire safety systems.

  • Collaborate Externally: Work closely with fire test laboratories, certification bodies and relevant authorities.

  • Engage in Standardization: Participate in standardization work and regulatory groups, contributing to shaping future requirements.

  • Ensure Quality from the Start: Collaborate closely with development teams to integrate testing early in the lifecycle (shift\-left approach).

  • Analyze and Improve: Evaluate test results, identify gaps and continuously improve test coverage and effectiveness.

  • Drive Collaboration: Work with global teams across R\&D, product management, sales and quality to deliver high\-performing solutions.
What We’re Looking For:

We’re looking for someone who combines analytical thinking with a structured mindset and a passion for fire safety.

  • A relevant academic background within Engineering, Computer Science, or similar.

  • Knowledge of the fire safety domain is essential.

  • Experience with test design, verification, or validation in complex systems or products.

  • Understanding of system architecture and how different components interact.

  • Experience with test methodologies, tools and possibly automation frameworks.

  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required.

  • Most importantly: We are open to candidates who are not yet fully formed experts — what matters most is a strong growth mindset, curiosity and willingness to learn and develop in a highly specialized domain.
Your Opportunities for Growth:

As we integrate with Siemens, this role offers strong opportunities to grow professionally:

  • End\-to\-End Insight: Gain deep understanding of complete systems—from design to validation and certification.

  • Expand Your Expertise: Strengthen your competencies within test design, quality engineering and fire safety compliance.

  • Global Collaboration: Work with international experts, laboratories and regulatory bodies.

  • Siemens Learning: Access Siemens’ global learning platforms and development programs.
This is a hybrid role that can be based anywhere globally. The position involves extensive travel (approximately 80–100 days per year) to collaborate with teams, projects, laboratories and stakeholders across different locations.

Join us!

We need you to reach our goals. So, if you find this position interesting, we encourage you to apply as soon as possible, and latest by 21st June. We will be assessing candidates on an ongoing basis, so make sure that we receive your application!
