Financial Planning Assistant / Accounts Assistant
This finance role primarily supports the Financial Planning \& Analysis process (FP\&A) across the business. The role will assist with month\-end reporting, budget and forecast cycles, ad hoc analysis and the development of standardised reporting, helping to provide clear and timely financial insight to business leaders.
The position will support the preparation and consolidation of budget and forecast information, working closely with local finance teams, functional business leaders and the central FP\&A team.
The role will support all operating expense functions, helping to produce regular reports, investigate variances, build ad hoc reporting and improve visibility of cost performance across the business.
In addition, the role will support the continued improvement of reporting and digitalisation, utilising Oracle, SAP, Power BI and other reporting tools to improve accuracy, efficiency and insight.
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:
- Support the preparation of budget and forecast templates.
- Assist with the preparation and consolidation of budget and forecast information across the relevant business areas.
- Produce month\-end reporting packs and analysis, ensuring information is accurate, timely and clearly presented.
- Support OPEX functions with financial reporting, variance analysis and cost visibility.
- Build ad hoc reports and analysis to support functional business leaders, local finance teams and central FP\&A requirements.
- Help maintain and improve standardised FP\&A reporting using Oracle, SAP, Power BI and other available reporting tools.
- Support the development and utilisation of Power BI reporting to improve automation, visibility and insight.
- Work with finance colleagues to identify opportunities to improve reporting quality, process efficiency and data accuracy.
- Support regular management reporting and respond to reporting requests from the business.
- Support financial accounting, reporting and control activities where required.
- Provide support during year\-end accounting, audit and statutory account processes as required.
- Perform any other reasonable duties required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Data Analytics or a related field required.
- Post\-graduate qualification, relevant internship or placement experience would be advantageous.
- Desire to develop a career in FP\&A, management reporting and business partnering.
- 1\-2 years finance experience, internship, placement year or graduate\-level experience preferred.
- Experience working with financial reporting, analysis, budgeting or forecasting would be advantageous.
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with data.
- Exposure to ERP or reporting systems such as SAP, Oracle or Power BI would be considered a plus.
- Ability and willingness to learn new systems, reporting tools and business processes quickly.
- Interest in finance digitalisation, reporting automation and continuous improvement.
- Strong computer skills, particularly MS Office, with advanced Excel capability preferred.
- Experience or interest in using SAP, Oracle and Power BI is an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Curious, proactive and willing to learn in a fast\-paced finance environment.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet short deadlines.
- Ability to work in a matrix organisation and build effective working relationships.
