Financial Manager / Controller

This is a standalone finance role with no direct reports. The Financial Manager is responsible for independently managing all financial matters of the Dutch subsidiary, with the possibility of expanding the role to cover Belgium and other European subsidiaries, potentially with full financial responsibility for those entities, as the business grows.

TASKS (consist of, but not limited to)

Financial records \& reconciliations – Process financial records, maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts.

Reporting \& analysis – Prepare financial analyses, monthly and annual reports, and assist with audit preparation.

Budgeting \& forecasting – Assist in preparing and monitoring budgets and rolling forecasts; analyse variances and recommend improvements.

ERP \& process optimisation – Contribute to the development and optimisation of the current ERP system (AFAS) and internal financial processes.

Audit \& discrepancy follow\-up – Investigate and follow up on audit findings, account discrepancies; drive work process improvements and efficiency.

Internal support – Perform and support colleagues with finance\-related matters as needed.

Policies \& SOP maintenance – Maintain and update the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) manual for financial policies and regulations.

Bank \& tax affairs – Assist with bank transaction maintenance, local tax filings (VAT/CIT/CBS), and local audit tasks.

Ad hoc support – Provide financial support to other entities within the group as required.

Stakeholder support – Assist with financial tasks requested by other stakeholders, including the parent company and group entities.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s degree (HBO) or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, Business Economics, or a related field

· approx. 5\+ years of relevant experience; less experienced candidates who are fast learners and able to work independently may also be considered,

· Solid knowledge of financial procedures and general ledger functions

· Knowledge and experience with AFAS is a strong advantage

· Fluent in both English and Dutch (both written and spoken)

· Self\-sufficient, structured, proactive, stress\-resilient, able to work independently

· Occasional travel may be required (e.g., Belgium) as the role develops
