Viewpoint Videos is a leading provider of innovative video capture and media solutions for the leisure and attractions industry. We design, manufacture and support systems used by some of the world's leading attractions, karting venues, ski resorts, adventure parks and tourism operators. As our business continues to expand across the UK and internationally, we are looking for a commercially minded Financial Controller to lead our finance function and help drive strategic growth.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller who will take ownership of the company's financial operations, ensuring robust financial management, accurate reporting and financial controls.
This is a hands\-on role suited to someone who enjoys working within a growing SME where they can influence business decisions, improve processes and provide meaningful commercial insight to senior management.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Finance

  • Provide financial analysis to support strategic decision making.

  • Support pricing and profitability analysis and opportunities to improve margins and operational efficiency.

  • Evaluate investment opportunities and business cases.

  • Assist with international financial planning as overseas operations continue to grow.
Financial Management
  • Lead the day\-to\-day finance function and be line manager to the company Bookkeeper.

  • Produce accurate monthly management accounts within agreed deadlines.

  • Prepare both monthly and annual budgets and rolling forecasts.

  • Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital.

  • Produce and present financial reports, Board packs and KPI dashboards for senior management.

  • Monitor profitability across products, customers and projects including trends.

  • Highlight any anomalies in performance on a client\-by\-client basis.
Financial Control
  • Maintain financial controls and internal processes.

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements.

  • Manage month\-end and year\-end close processes and reports.

  • Liaise with external accountants and auditors.

  • Prepare VAT returns and oversee tax compliance both U.K and overseas.

  • Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are completed accurately.
Operational Responsibilities
  • Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, including credit control and debtor performance.

  • Manage payroll (or oversee outsourced payroll provider).

  • Develop and improve financial systems and reporting processes.

  • Support ERP/accounting software optimisation and automation.
About You

You will be commercially aware, detail\-oriented and comfortable working in a dynamic SME environment.

Essential

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (or working toward qualification).

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role.

  • Experience producing management accounts independently.

  • Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards.

  • Excellent Excel and financial modelling skills.

  • Experience of international trading and multi\-currency accounting.

  • Experience with accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks or similar.

  • Strong analytical and problem\-solving ability.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non\-financial stakeholders.

  • Ability to prioritise and work independently.
Desirable
  • Experience within manufacturing, technology, engineering or hardware businesses.

  • Experience of inventory and stock accounting.

  • Experience of stock and production planning, analysis and modelling.

  • Ability to design, build and refine models to support strategic decision making and operational efficiency.

  • Knowledge of R\&D tax relief.

  • Experience implementing financial systems or process improvements.
