We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead and oversee the core finance function, including AP and AR operations, within a dynamic housing environment. This role will take ownership of month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and year-end audit support, while driving improvements to financial processes, controls, and policies. You will play a key role in leading a transactional finance team through change, offering the opportunity to make a tangible impact within a socially driven organisation delivering essential housing services.
Financial Controller General Responsibilities:
- Supervision of transactional finance (AR & AP)
- Lead AP and AR through a period of change
- Lead on monthly reconciliations
- Lead on month end
- Support year-end audit work
- Assist with the improvement of financial policies & procedures
- Previous Financial Controller experience
- Qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA)
- Strong people manager, can hit the ground running/self-starter
- Previous Social Housing experience
- Finance improvements experience
- Management experience (team of 6+)
- 25 days annual leave (increasing by one day each year, capped at 30 days)

- Contribute at least 3% of your basic salary to Pension and West Kent will double match your own contribution (at its discretion) up to a maximum of 10% of your basic salary.
