Financial Controller \- Sandwell, West Midlands
The rewards
- £80,000 \- £90,000 per year plus benefits
- Full\-time, on\-site
- Production of accurate and timely monthly management accounts across multiple entities
- Ownership of month end close processes and balance sheet integrity
- Development of meaningful KPI reporting to support operational and commercial decision making
- Oversight of statutory reporting requirements and year end audit processes
- Responsibility for VAT, PAYE/NIC, Corporation Tax and wider compliance obligations
- Ownership and continuous development of detailed 13\-week cashflow forecasting
- Creation of rolling forecasts and working capital models
- Development and implementation of budgeting processes across the business
- Partnering with SLT and budget holders to improve forecasting accuracy and accountability
- Optimisation of ERP systems and financial processes to improve reporting capability and strengthen controls
- Development of scalable financial controls suitable for a high\-growth multi\-entity environment
- Identification and implementation of process improvements across finance operations
- Day\-to\-day leadership of the finance team including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll
- Recruitment, mentoring and development of additional finance talent including Management Accountants
- Acting as a key finance contact across the wider business
- Fully qualified accountant — ACA, ACCA or CIMA
- Post\-qualification experience within SME or mid\-sized business environments
- Previous experience operating within multi\-entity businesses
- Experience in manufacturing and/or distribution environments preferred
- Strong financial control and management reporting experience
- Experience improving systems, controls and finance processes within growing organisations
- Proactive and hands\-on approach with the ability to operate effectively in a fast\-paced environment
- Strong communication skills — ability to build relationships across operational and senior leadership teams
- Ability to maintain a strategic overview whilst remaining close to operational detail
The Financial Controller will report directly to the Managing Director and will provide accurate reporting to the Board for strategic decision\-making whilst leading the wider finance function.
This role offers significant visibility across the organisation and the chance to work closely with senior leadership, playing a key role in shaping and strengthening the finance function as the business continues to scale.
