Financial Controller | Property Development | East Sussex | Hybrid (2 Days in the Office) | £60,000 - £75,000 | Permanent Role
Robert Half are partnering with a well-established property development business to recruit a Financial Controller into a broad and varied finance role. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, this position offers the opportunity to take ownership of financial reporting, forecasting, statutory accounting and financial control, while working closely with senior stakeholders across the business.

About the Position
Reporting into the Finance Director, you will be responsible for:
- Preparing the monthly management accounts, including P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and supporting schedules.
- Producing board reports with insightful commentary on financial performance, key variances and business risks.
- Managing the monthly forecasting process, updating forecasts and preparing reports for senior leadership.
- Supporting cash flow forecasting and providing regular analysis on movements, risks and opportunities.
- Providing financial support to operational stakeholders on project costs, WIP reporting, VAT matters and key business decisions.
- Preparing quarterly VAT returns and supporting other tax reporting requirements.
- Assisting with the year-end audit process, preparing statutory accounting schedules and responding to auditor requests.
- Supporting the continued development of finance systems, identifying opportunities to improve reporting and increase automation.
- Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring consistency between management and statutory reporting.
- Producing ad hoc financial analysis to support strategic and operational decision-making across the business.
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA), although newly qualified accountants from an audit background will also be considered.
- Strong experience preparing management accounts, statutory accounts and financial reporting.
- Good technical accounting knowledge, including experience of FRS102.
- Experience of forecasting, budgeting and cash flow management.
- Exposure to the construction or housebuilding sector would be hugely advantageous, but is not essential.
- £60,000 - £75,000 salary depending on experience.
- Hybrid working - 2 days per week in the office.
