Financial Controller
Cedar is currently partnered with a PE-backed, international business undergoing a significant period of finance transformation, operational improvement and continued growth, to secure an Interim Financial Controller.
The role is based in Central London on a hybrid basis and will support both the Interim CFO and Group Finance leadership team across core financial control, reporting, audit and process improvement activity.

The organisation has experienced strong recent growth and is focused on strengthening controls, improving reporting quality, enhancing finance processes and building a more scalable finance infrastructure capable of supporting future expansion.
The environment is fast-paced, hands-on and commercially driven, with finance playing a central role in both day-to-day operations and wider transformation initiatives.
The Role
As Interim Financial Controller, responsibilities will likely include:
- Ownership of monthly management accounts and consolidated group reporting across multiple entities and international operations
- Leading month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
- Supporting delivery of annual statutory accounts and external audit requirements
- Strengthening financial controls, governance and reporting processes across the group
- Managing balance sheet integrity, reconciliations and reporting accuracy
- Providing detailed variance analysis, commentary and performance insight to senior leadership
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and cashflow reporting processes
- Working closely with operational stakeholders to improve reporting quality and commercial visibility
- Supporting finance transformation initiatives, process automation and reporting improvements
- Acting as a key finance lead across ERP and systems optimisation activity
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across reporting, controls and finance operations
- Assisting with multi-entity accounting, intercompany processes and wider group finance activities
Your Profile
You will ideally have
- A formal accountancy qualification (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
- Previous Financial Controller, Group Finance or senior operational finance experience within complex environments
- Strong technical accounting, reporting and audit experience
- Experience operating within multi-entity and ideally international group structures
- Strong month-end, controls and financial reporting capability
- Experience improving finance processes and reporting efficiency
- Exposure to ERP systems, finance transformation or reporting improvement initiatives
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- A hands-on and delivery-focused approach, with the ability to operate effectively in fast-paced environments
- Prior interim or contract experience would be advantageous but is not essential
