Financial Controller / Warrington (hybrid) / Salary £65,000 - £70,000
Accountable Recruitment are exclusively supporting our high-growth, privately owned SME client the in their search for a Financial Controller.
This is a newly created role driven by significant recent growth, including acquisition activity, with further expansion plans on the horizon. The business has scaled rapidly and is now looking to strengthen its finance function with an experienced, hands-on Financial Controller to support the next phase of development.
They operate in a dynamic, customer-focused sector and are investing heavily in their people, systems and processes to support long-term success.
The Opportunity Reporting into the Finance Director, you will take ownership of the day-to-day finance function while leading and developing a small team.
This role offers excellent exposure across the business, with the opportunity to play a key part in driving improvements to reporting, controls, and commercial insight as the organisation continues to scale.
You'll be joining at an exciting time where finance is evolving, giving you the chance to make a tangible impact on systems, processes and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities • Lead and manage the finance team, providing support, coaching and development
- Oversee the production of monthly management accounts and improve reporting timelines
- Strengthen financial controls and ensure accuracy across all financial processes
- Partner with the Finance Director to enhance commercial planning and financial analysis
- Support the development of data-driven insights to aid business decision-making
- Identify and implement process improvements across finance systems and reporting
- Contribute to ongoing projects linked to growth, including system enhancements and operational improvements
- Maintain oversight of transactional finance activities, ensuring efficiency and best practice
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
- Proven experience managing or mentoring finance team members
- Strong background in financial control and management reporting
- Experience within a business with stock exposure is highly desirable
- A continuous improvement mindset, with the drive to challenge processes and implement change
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to partner across the business
- Enthusiastic and commercially aware, keen to add value in a scaling organisation
- Hybrid working (3 days in the office, 2 from home)
