Financial Accounting Officer

The Financial Accounting Officer will play a key role in supporting the Accounting & Finance department by managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and assisting with reporting processes. The role will be working for an Arms Length Body and be based at a location around north London, Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire or Leeds.

Description

• Processing purchase and sales ledgers


• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.


• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports.


• Perform reconciliations, including bank accounts and balance sheets.


• Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including accruals and prepayments


• Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.


• Collaborate with internal teams to provide financial insights and analysis.


• Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and clarifications.


• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and systems.

The successful Financial Accounting Officer should have:

• Relevant qualifications in accounting or finance (active CCAB studier or AAT Level 4).


• Experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance.


• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


• An organised and detail-focused approach to managing tasks.


• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

• Competitive salary ranging from £33,000 to £35,500 (please note, the top will only be payable if you are studying CCAB or are AAT Level 4)

• A mainly remote role with 2 days office attendance a month required.
