Job title: Finance Officer

Hours: 16 hours a week (2 days per week)

Salary: From £12,480 per year

Responsible to: CEO /Development Manager

PERSON SPECIFICATION

We are looking for a Finance Officer to support the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in Funding applications, budgeting, managing our accounts, maintaining financial procedures and systems and general record keeping across our CRM database together with payroll experience and journalling.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can work independently, preferably with previous Charity experience and knowledge in BrightPay payroll systems. Knowledge of the Kashflow Accounting system is beneficial, but training will be provided to the right candidate.

The job will be based at our offices in North Street Hornchurch.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Update Kashflow software with all daily transactions, BACS receipts, card transactions etc


• Recording client receipts into CRM system and attendance register


• Assisting customers and suppliers with any accounts queries (by telephone and email)


• Review and process deposit returns


• Processing payments to suppliers and allocating costs to correct funding streams


• Monthly bank reconciliations


• Production of monthly and quarterly Management accounts for Management and Trustees


• Issuing sales invoices monthly and chasing up outstanding debtors


• Sending monthly statements to clients


• Working alongside the CEO to monitor restricted funding budgets, ensuring budgets are adhered to


• Working alongside the CEO to produce Funding application financials


• Liaising with external Accountants to produce Year End accounts


• Communicating with external payroll provider with monthly updates on staff pay, sickness, holiday and approving payroll.


• Journalling staff wages correctly with allocations to appropriate Funding streams


• Payment of staff wages through the Banking system in a timely manner

• Strong Financial and Accountancy skills


• Experience in bookkeeping essential


• Excellent literacy and numeracy skills


• Experience of Kashflow or similar accounting software


• Knowledge of CRM software


• Knowledge of BrightPay payroll or similar payroll systems


• Experience with online Banking systems


• Ability to work flexibly and demonstrate the use of own initiative


• Experience working with email, internet, spreadsheets and word processing


• Enthusiasm, a positive approach and an attention to detail


• Outgoing and confident character, able to communicate at all levels

Founded in 2011, we are a counselling and psychotherapy service based in Hornchurch, Essex that works with children, young people, adults and their families in the boroughs of Havering, Barking \& Dagenham, Redbridge and Waltham Forest. Our counsellors and therapists work both within schools and from our own counselling rooms located in North Street, Hornchurch.
