Finance Officer - Immediate Start

Are you an experienced Finance Officer looking for a rewarding opportunity within a purpose driven international charity? Our client is seeking a proactive and self-motivated Finance Officer to join their busy finance team during an exciting period of transition. Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day financial operations across a multi-currency environment.

Contract Details

• Duration: Initially 6 weeks, with potential to extend through to Christmas and potentially go permanent


• Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday


• Location: Remote, with occasional visits to the London office near London Bridge


• Pay Rate: £16 to £20 per hour (dependent on experience)


• Equipment: Candidates must provide their own laptop

The Role

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing the purchase ledger and processing supplier invoices


• Preparing UK and international payments


• Performing bank and balance sheet reconciliations


• Supporting month-end processes, journals, accruals and prepayments


• Assisting with VAT returns and audit preparation


• Reconciling donation income and maintaining accurate financial records


• Providing financial support and guidance to colleagues across the organisation

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in a Finance Officer, Accounts Payable or similar finance role


• Strong reconciliation and purchase ledger experience


• Confident working with Excel, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables


• Experience working within financial controls and maintaining audit trails


• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment


• Charity sector experience would be highly desirable


• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central is advantageous

This role would suit a hands-on finance professional who can hit the ground running, work autonomously and support a stretched but friendly finance team from day one.
