Hays are recruiting on behalf of a well-established Multi-Academy Trust supporting schools across Bolton for a School Finance Officer / Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their finance team on an initial 3-month temporary contract.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Purchase Ledger or Accounts Payable professional looking to join a busy and supportive finance function.

Your new role
You will support the day-to-day operation of the finance function, with responsibilities including:

• Processing a high volume of supplier invoices


• Managing and maintaining the finance inbox


• Handling supplier queries and resolving discrepancies


• Reconciling supplier statements


• Assisting with payment runs


• Supporting the finance activities of a secondary school within the Trust


• Providing general administrative support to the wider finance team

What you'll need to succeed

• Strong Purchase Ledger / Accounts Payable experience


• Strong attention to detail and accuracy


• Excellent organisational and communication skills


• Ability to manage a busy workload and meet deadlines


• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)


• School finance experience would be beneficial but is not essential


• Available to start at short notice or immediately
