Finance Manager
Viro Consult is growing, and we need someone we can rely on to keep the numbers straight and the office running smoothly while we do it. This is a hands\-on role at the centre of the business — you'll be the person the Directors turn to for a clear financial picture.
About Viro Consult
Viro Consult is a sustainability and building physics consultancy based in Cardiff. We work with architects, contractors, developers and housing associations across the built environment, providing BREEAM assessments, SAP calculations, Part L compliance, EPCs, thermal modelling, air tightness testing and whole life carbon assessments. We're a close\-knit team, and this role sits right at the heart of it.
About the Role
You'll manage the day\-to\-day running of the office and the financial health of the company — keeping records, invoicing, expenditure, reporting and forecasting on track, and giving the Directors the information they need to make good decisions. You'll also support HR administration and be the first point of contact for queries from the team and from clients. A year in, you'll have made the finances easier to trust and the office easier to run.
What You'll Do
- Own the sales ledger — invoicing, statements and debt chasing — and produce monthly aged debt and aged creditor reports
- Process supplier invoices, purchase orders, and monthly credit card and staff expenses
- Accruals, Prepayments, Depreciation \& Journals
- Cash Flow Reports and Supplier Payments
- Process bank entries and reconcile accounts
- Prepare quarterly VAT returns, liaising directly with our accountant
- Support year\-end processes and respond to audit queries
- Prepare management reports and financial forecasts for the Directors
- Be the first point of contact for office administration, HR queries and client enquiries
Required:
- AAT qualified
- GCSEs in Maths and English
- Proven experience managing accounts and bookkeeping
- Strong working knowledge of Xero and Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Comfortable working to deadlines and prioritising a varied workload
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in a small or medium\-sized business, ideally in professional services
- Experience supporting HR administration
£35,000–£40,000, depending on experience. We're open to full\-time or part\-time hours — let us know what works for you and we'll talk it through.
Pay: £35,000\.00\-£40,000\.00 per year
