A growing and purpose led organisation based in Sheffield is seeking an ambitious Finance Manager to join its senior finance leadership team.

Reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller, this is a broad and hands on role with responsibility for leading the day-to-day finance function, ensuring strong financial control, delivering accurate and insightful reporting, and driving continuous improvement across finance operations.

In addition to core financial control responsibilities, the role offers a strong commercial dimension, partnering with stakeholders across the business to support performance analysis, improve operational efficiency, and provide meaningful insight into business profitability and strategic decision-making.

This opportunity would suit a qualified finance professional who enjoys operating in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and is looking to combine operational finance leadership with commercially focused business partnering.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Full ownership of the finance function on a day-to-day basis

  • Monitor financial performance against budget

  • Provide detailed variance analysis across performance, costs, and profitability

  • Balance sheet reconciliations

  • Budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis

  • Management of month-end and year-end processes

  • Cash flow management

  • Management and development of transactional finance processes including AP, AR, payroll, and bank reconciliations

  • Driving finance process improvements and systems efficiencies

  • Providing financial insight and support to operational stakeholders

  • Supporting the company Director on strategic finance projects

About You:

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical finance capability alongside a proactive and commercially minded approach.

Requirements include:

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified or qualified by experience

  • Previous experience in a Finance Manager or senior management accounts role

  • Confident communicator with the ability to work across operational teams

  • Strong Excel and finance systems capability

  • Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of the finance function

  • Experience within SME environments would be advantageous
