Finance Manager

Kenneth Brian Associates are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day finance function within a busy organisation. This is a hands-on role with responsibility for both the wider financial operation and the management of a member of the finance team.

The Role You will play a key role in ensuring the finance function operates efficiently and accurately, with responsibilities including:

• Taking overall responsibility for the day-to-day finance function and supervising a direct report.


• Coordinating the month-end process and ensuring accounts are completed within agreed deadlines.


• Producing accurate monthly management accounts and financial reporting.


• Completing and overseeing balance sheet reconciliations.


• Reviewing financial performance, investigating variances and providing meaningful analysis.


• Maintaining appropriate financial controls and assisting with the annual audit process, working closely with external auditors.


• Monitoring cash flow and supporting effective working capital management.


• Overseeing monthly accounts receivable activity and ensuring outstanding balances are appropriately managed.


• Leading the annual budgeting process and preparing regular forecast updates throughout the year.


• Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, financial regulations and legislative changes.

About You We are seeking a commercially minded and hands-on finance professional who can operate confidently with a high degree of independence.

You will ideally have:

• A recognised ACCA or CIMA qualification, or a degree-level qualification in Accounting and Finance.


• The ability to prioritise effectively and deliver accurate work within demanding deadlines.


• A willingness to get involved with transactional finance when required, alongside the more strategic elements of the position.


• Strong written and verbal communication skills.


• The confidence to work autonomously while taking ownership of the finance function.


• Strong practical experience using Sage
